the purpose

First thought on the blog. Why blog?

My purpose of sharing some thoughts is to help others discover truth in their life by reading the experiences of others (including myself) who have found truth. I believe truth is contained in the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which has been restored to the earth. So, I've chosen to devote two years of my life to convey that message.

A large chunk of my mission has been spent on MSU campus, where I am currently serving. I hope to give a view of what a mormon missionary does, the experiences he/she has, and the joy that comes when we come unto Christ. Happy reading!

The Joy of a Changed Life

Baptism Day of Camron Dunham

Camron Dunham is a spiritual soldier. Our paths first crossed a couple of months back while visiting another member from our church, James Woodrick. Camron didn't know who we were, nor did he trust us or our message. But as time went on, he opened himself up to learned about the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the Prophet Joseph Smith. He tasted the fruit of the Restoration, another testament of Jesus Christ called The Book of Mormon.
As the days and weeks rolled by, I saw a change in Camron take place as he learned about the Savior and His teachings. Light and peace flooded into his life as he drank from the words of the prophets that lived here in ancient America, individuals whose life and teachings are recorded in The Book of Mormon. He seemed happier, and came to know that God was real, the He loves us, and that He has a plan for us. His prayers were heartfelt and powerful, and despite opposition, he decided to follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized by the authority of God, the Priesthood that was restored to the earth.

I know that true joy and peace only comes in living the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I saw that joy in Camron and felt it myself as I witnessed him get on the path that leads to eternal life. I love you kid!
